Andrew Dunn

Andrew Dunn, Chair: Andrew serves as the current Executive Chair of the State of Iowa Youth Advisory Council, a nonpartisan youth advocacy organization under the umbrella of the Iowa Department of Human Rights. In that position, Andrew organizes the legislative agenda and directs the strategy that the council uses to lobby legislators about issues important to the young people and families of Iowa. Andrew also serves on the Executive Board of High School Democrats of Iowa as Development Director. As Development Director, Andrew works to grow the size of HSDA chapters around Iowa as well as aids in the creation of new chapters. In addition, Andrew has worked on a multitude of campaigns since 2012 and served the Iowa Democratic Party as a delegation page at the Democratic National Convention in July 2016.

TJ FOley

TJ Foley, Chief Advisor: TJ Foley is the former Executive Chair of the State of Iowa Youth Advisory Council and current Director of the Iowa Student Rapid Response Team. In both these roles, he organized and lead large groups of young people as they lobbied legislators for youth issues. In addition to domestic political advocacy, he and Andrew Dunn co-founded "The Globus Project," an organization that works in countries around the world to empower youth politically and economically and is currently seeking 501(c)(3) status. TJ has also worked on multiple federal, state, and city level Democratic candidates’ campaigns.

Cody Woodruff

Cody Woodruff, Treasurer: Cody is currently a freshman studying Political Science at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. At Iowa State, he is a senator representing the Inter-Residence Hall Association on Student Government. Cody graduated from Carlisle High School, where he served as Student Body President in his senior year. He is also the former Chair of the State of Iowa Youth Advisory Council, a Boys Nation and Boys State alumnus, and former Midwest Regional Director of the Campaign for a Presidential Youth Council.

Harry Nelsen

Director of Outreach Harry is an advocate for millennial political participation. A senior at Spencer High School, served as a delegate for Bernie Sanders during the 2016 election cycle. In this role, he became concerned with the lack of young faces in the democratic party. This has inspired him to continue volunteering on local, state and federal campaigns. Currently, Harry is a member of the Iowa Youth Congress where he is lobbying a bi-partisan bill to train secondary education teachers on the signs of Mental Illness. Harry is also a member of the Okoboji Foundation's Youth In Philanthropy organization, which has raised and donated over $200,000 to Iowa non-profits.
